ANNUAL CREATIVITY EXPO TO BE HELD AT RVCC
The Sussex County Brain Injury Support Group will present Creativity Expo 2007, featuring the creative works of persons with traumatic or acquired brain injury, July 14-25 at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC). The fourth annual exhibition will be held in the Art Gallery (lower level, College Center), at the College?s North Branch Campus.
An opening reception, which will also feature poetry and prose readings, will be held Saturday, July 14, from 1-4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
Creativity Expo 2007 is coordinated by Vincent Diorio, group facilitator of the Sussex County Brain Injury group. The show?s purpose is to support the creative aspirations of brain injury survivors and to raise public awareness about acquired and traumatic brain injury. Several of the survivors were experienced artists and writers before their injuries and have persevered to use their skills to express themselves. Others have begun to explore the arts since their injury.
The Brain Injury Support Groups are affiliated with B.I.A.N.J-The Brain Injury Association of New Jersey. The non-profit groups work in the interest of brain injury survivors and their families.
The exhibition and opening reception are free of charge and open to the public. Gallery hours for Creativity Expo 2007 are Mondays through Thursdays, noon to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays until 8 p.m. Weekend gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. The exhibition is closed on Fridays. For more information, contact Diorio at 800-374-0071, ext. 220 (weekdays) or 609-397-1048 (evenings and weekends).
