Career Services Staff, Services & Mission
RVCC Career Services
|RVCC offers individual career counseling and assessment services to currently enrolled matriculated students (those planning to obtain a degree at the college) and to alumni. Career counseling can assist individuals in making informed choices about career and educational plans. A Career Counselor can help identify interests, skills and values and relate them to appropriate occupational goals. The Career Services office also assists individuals with preparing for the job search process. Workshops are offered each semester on resume development, effective interviewing skills,salary negotiation, internship and job search and success tips, career fair and networking preparation, and more. In addition, our office maintains an online database of local job and internship postings.
Career Services Mission
The mission of the Career Services office is to promote the career development of Raritan Valley Community College students and alumni. Career Services also aims to stimulate the economic development of the community by providing direct support for the workforce needs of regional employers. To achieve this mission, Career Services provides a variety of services to RVCC students and alumni including career awareness and exploration activities, facilitation of individual self-assessment, administration and interpretation of career diagnostic and appraisal tests, workshops, seminars, and public events focused on career themes, access to career resource materials in print and multimedia formats, experiential learning opportunities and job search assistance. Career Services directly supports the mission of the College in its commitment to workforce development and life-long learning.
